What is American rye whiskey? Are rye and bourbon the same? On November 10 at 7 pm all your questions will be answered. Join us at Square to learn about what ryes are, how to read a bottle of rye, and sample some great examples of American rye. Our resident American whiskey expert Joe will lead you in a blind tasting of unique ryes and help answer the questions you might have on this spirit. We’ll take what can be intimidating and make it approachable and fun. Guests will be guided through a sampling of different types of rye and given some pointers for how to better taste rye. After our tasting wraps up, the ryes will be revealed. You'll learn what qualities of a rye you really enjoy when you are not influenced by the label. There will also be a signature cocktail of Joe's creation for purchase. The signature cocktail, the Sazerac, will warm you up from the inside out with its complex combination of rye, absinthe, and bitters. Space is limited so please reserve your tickets soon!
