We’re turning ten, come to our party! We invite you to celebrate with us as we mark this occasion, reflect on all of the hard work of the last decade, and raise funds to pave the way into our next ten years of dreaming and creation. For the occasion, we are delighted to share a selection of special performances, delicious cuisine prepared by Pecado Bueno, and a raffle of circussy treasures. Acrobatic Conundrum is a contemporary circus company that was founded in Seattle in November 2012. In the past 10 years we’ve made 8 circus cabarets and 4 touring productions, hired scores of circus performers, and reached tens of thousands of audience members. We could never have done it without you, the humans who have applauded, loved, and supported the work we do. Though we are a small arts organization, we have a huge impact locally and nationally. We give opportunities to performers to create ensemble-based, theatrical circus performances and to tell personal stories. We believe that storytelling is a powerful force for bringing people together and empowering them. In a typical year, 80% of our operating budget goes directly to artists to bring their craft on our stage. Funds raised at our ten-year celebration and during our month-long donor campaign will ensure ensemble-based contemporary circus persists in Seattle and the U.S.. Though we live in times of increased economic hardship and climatic instability, we hope to allay existential dread and celebrate the power of art and community.
