Description
Rebellious, truth-telling women are rising up and moving, but they aren't doing it alone: some of the most effective paradigm-shifters of our generation are those who move towards change in communion with others. Carmen Ward of Becomingcarmen LLC is no exception. Her journey to the destination has been transformative for her, but also her growing community. This journey has led her to many dynamic women, who have shaped her as an individual just like she is shaping the community she desires. Rebellious woman rising Sarah Shelton, of Girl Louie believes the best way to build resilient communities is by sharing authentic stories. There are few resources as much as our own as our personal stories, and a personal story delivered with confidence is one of the most powerful resources one person can bring to a community. This is just one reason why Girl Louie is teaming up with Becomingcarmen LLC for her first communal workshop: "My Story is my Superpower." Join us as we take you on a journey, to the first of many destinations! We will share ways you can not only own your unique individual story, but build up your community and its people in the process. Becomingcarmen's very own mentoring partner Shalia Ford will be in attendance to expand on the importance of living in truth and sharing your authentic story. After this first of its kind communal workshop, you will have the first opportunity to view and bid on art created by the student leaders of The Leadership SchoolThis portion of the event starts at 2:30p, in advance of the free, public Raise the Paddle event. We will also have art created by St. Louis's own Sarah Shelton of Girl Louie; STL Community Hub member Kaia Gilje; managing editor Phoenix Winterova of the BecomingCarmen Medium publication; and other community members. In addition, we have prepared several classroom baskets for auction. Come raise your paddle in solidarity with The Leadership School to support the founding student leaders as well as all the students yet to come! We will also have mouthwatering treats for you to enjoy as you place your bids and network with other community rebels. We are redefining what it is to be radical, rebellious and communally interconnected. 15% of all net proceeds from the ticket sales of the workshop will support STL Mutual Aid, and a further 30% of net workshop proceeds will support The Leadership School. All proceeds from the Raise the Paddle fundraising event will go to The Leadership School.
