WTS Arkansas' quarterly lunch program will be hosted at the Clinton Presidential Center on November 14, 2022. Join us as we hear from a panelists of professionals speaking on Electric Vehicle Infrastructure and it's future in Arkansas! The speakers will feature professionals from the Arkansas Department of Transportation, the Arkansas Department of Energy & Environment, and the Federal Highway Administration. Joining the discussion from the Arkansas Department of Transportation, we will hear from Aarón Pinedo. Aarón is an Advanced Transportation Planning Engineer, and began his professional career at the Department in January 2019, as an Engineer in the Transportation Planning & Policy Division. He is part of the Project Management Team for the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program and is ARDOT’s point of contact for NEVI. Aarón is a Licensed Engineer Intern in Arkansas. He holds his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from The University of Arkansas. During his undergraduate program, Aarón served on the Springdale Planning Commission. He is proud to call Springdale his hometown. Also joining the discussion from Arkansas Energy Office at the Department of Energy & Environment, we will hear from Jason Willey. He is a Policy Manager and has worked extensively on Arkansas’ electric vehicle charging infrastructure programs over the past years, which have incentivized the installation of over 140 Level 2 EV chargers and the future installation of three Level 3 charging stations across the state. He serves on the project management team for the Arkansas National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Plan development in cooperation with the Arkansas Department of Transportation. As well, he serves as a co-director of Arkansas Clean Cities Coalition, a part of the US Department of Energy’s Vehicle Technologies Office. Clean Cities Coalitions foster the nation’s economic, environmental, and energy security by working locally to advance affordable, domestic alternative fuel transportation technologies. He is a graduate of the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts and Rhodes College. Joining the discussion from the Federal Highway Administration, we will hear from Amy H. Heflin. Amy became the Program Delivery Team Leader in October 2015, a team which consists of the Division Technical Programs Engineer, the Environmental Coordinator, the Realty Officer, and the Transportation Planner. Amy came to the Arkansas Division in 1999 as the Transportation Planning Engineer. Beginning in 2007, she also served as the Support Services Team Leader and was responsible for tracking Division’s GOE Budget and overseeing the Division’s procurement procedures. She held that position until February 2012 when she was promoted to Field Operations Engineer. Amy began her career with FHWA in 1992 as a Highway Engineer Trainee. She completed training assignments in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Colorado, and Massachusetts. From 1994 to 1999, she worked as an Area Engineer in the Texas Division. Amy earned her B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech University.
