I have a young relative who is moving between apartments this weekend. She has already moved all the small stuff, but she needs help with a couch, a couple dressers, a couple mattresses, headboards, and so on. Nothing big: no pianos, safes, appliances, room dividers. The move is just from one side of East Lansing to the other - about 3 miles.
It will involve one flight of stairs on one end (where she's moving from) and another flight on the other. Parking is about 50 feet from the door to the apartment, and her units are about 25 feet from the front door. Nothing terrible.
You will need to have a small truck. It would be best if you have a helper, but in a pinch you and my relative can manage. My guess is that there about six or eight loads to carry from the apartment to the truck, but it should all fit into one truckload. If your truck is really small, I guess you'll have to make two trips.
Here's the deal: you, plus a helper, plus a truck. $200 for two solid hours of work. If it goes over, $50/hour after that. If you don't have a helper, you only get $130. If you don't have a truck, don't bother replying.
The move has to be Saturday (October 29) or Sunday (October 30).
You should reply with details, including your name and a clear description of your truck and whether you have a helper. Also, what times you are available. If you don't include all that information, you won't hear back from me.
