Full Job Description: Weld Power Generator is currently hiring multiple positions for: Field Planned Maintenance Technicians in our COGEN Division. As a COGEN Maintenance Technician, daily duties will include: • Travel to various customer locations throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut in your assigned company service vehicle which you can take home with you each night. • Perform lube oil, lube oil filter, changes/top offs as required. • Visually Inspect engine components • Perform minor repairs such as changing of common engine items. • Complete work orders in a timely fashion. • Performing and completing required paperwork at the completion of the assigned job via company issued iPad. • Communicating with office regarding issues found during assigned call. • Maintaining your service vehicle and ensuring stock is adequately replenished. This is an entry level position. Weld Power is willing to provide paid training to suitable candidates. Suitable candidates would typically be somewhat mechanically inclined people actively working in, or having a background in one or more of the following (but not limited to) fields. • Lube Oil Technicians • Auto maintenance/repair • Small engine maintenance/repair • US Veterans who’s service had them working in a maintenance/repair capacity • Building maintenance • Electrical apprentice • HVAC/Plumbing apprentice • Delivery Driver Suitable candidates for consideration will also be • 18yrs of age or older. • Have a clean driving record. • Ability to pass a CORI(Background check). • Familiar working with basic hand, and power tools. The paid training is typically a two week process. Upon completion of training you will be assigned a company service van, fuel card, and all your common maintenance stock items. Your assigned jobs will be viewable to you up to a week out. We would ideally want you to work from your house and travel(paid) directly to your various job locations and back home. You would only need to come here to the shop in Millbury when you needed to replenish stock, and/or dump off your waste oil and filters. This is a job where you will be working almost exclusively independent and unsupervised. If you run into issues or need guidance, help is always only a quick phone call away. It also specializes in disaster response to major weather-related events. Magazine as one of the fastest growing, privately held companies in the U.S. We have recently started a dedicated COGEN division that deals exclusively with the planned maintenance of COGEN units located throughout New England. What is COGEN or Cogeneration? Cogeneration is a efficient technology to generate supplemental electricity and heat for large residential buildings. It is also called Combined Heat and Power (CHP) as cogeneration produces heat and electricity simultaneously. Utilizing a spark ignited, naturally aspirated internal combustion engine(Chevy Big Block) to drive an AC generator to generate supplemental electricity. The engines are equipped with patented exhaust manifolds that utilize the heat generated from the exhaust to provide supplemental hot water which is pumped into hot water storage tanks where it is drawn from by the buildings various primary heating system(s). The overall system is comprised of many other intertwined systems which are serviced/maintained separately, by other applicable tradesman. For this position, you will only be tasked with the planned maintenance of the engine portion which is typically a simple oil and filter change or top off, as well the replacement of common engine parts such as air filters and spark plugs as needed. These units are scattered all over New England with the majority being located within Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or Connecticut.
