Description
So I was having a sandwich in a nice eatery in Lewiston and struck up a conversation with the owner. She told me she was expanding, opening up the downstairs area for a speakeasy style atmosphere. She also is hoping to host music and we both agreed that the classic rock or heavy metal that every other establishment in the area offers is not what would be suitable for hers. I told her about a jazz combo I used to play in; violin, cello, guitar, and bass. We played standards (we also did originals but that is not relevant to the topic at hand). She thought that kind of combo would be a great fit. I might not be able to recreate that exact lineup. But all I need is a guitarist who can play standards out of the Real Book and we could be good to go as a duo. I play cello and have played a lot in that duo arrangement.
