Description
The Felons International Party (FIP / FIPPIE) is taking a stand against the maintenance of permanent criminal record against people whose sentence has been completed/discharged.
The practice of the branding of human beings with the "scarlet letter" of a criminal record bars people from most respected professions in our society. It even prevents employment doing what many would consider average jobs. This practice of maintaining criminal records against people creates societal outcasts and disenfranchises them depriving them of their rights to full citizen ship. It creates a status of second class citizenship.
This practice creates an environment where the society constantly reminds people with criminal records of mistakes they may have made years or even decades ago. Imagine if someone you knew continually reminded you of some mistake or transgression you committed in your youth!
POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!
