In this role, you will work on a residential project located in Maui.
Your job duties include reading blueprints to understand the project’s specifications, creating wood fixtures, installing windows and door frames, and repairing wood structures.
Candidates must be proficient with industry hand and power tools and familiar with governmental safety regulations.
You must have at least eight years of carpentry experience.
Responsibilities for Journeyman Carpenter
- Review blueprints to understand the scope of the project
- Ability to lead a crew of 2 or more individuals.
- Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer’s budget and style
- Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and stud work.
- Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall, and insulation
- Fabricate and cut wood components and framework
- Install windows and door frames
- Perform trim and finishing work
- Clean, maintain, and store tools and equipment properly
Qualifications for Journeyman Carpenter High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to lift to 50 pounds
- Proficient with industry hand and power tools
- A carpenter that can do all phases of construction is a plus.
- Ability to install framing, decking, cabinets, crown and base moldings, custom doors and windows, and all other finish and trim carpentry work
