Description

Event details:Unlock inspiration at IIDA Oregon's November Forum with special guest Davey Barnwell! Join us for a hands-on workshop and evening of community at Ankrom Moisan on November 10th from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm. Our evening will be guided by local artist and muralist Davey Barnwell. Davey will be sharing how she draws inspiration for her work and her design process, and then attendees will be able to use some of her original line drawings to paint their own works of art! Davey is known for creating paintings that unfold by reaction, like a spirited conversation — pushing forward with one mark and stepping back with another, gouging beneath the surface and then smoothing over with a swath of color. While creativity is limitless, space for this event is not - so get your ticket today! Meet our guest speaker: Davey Barnwell is a Portland-based artist and muralist, known for colorful installations that bring vibrancy to the existing architecture and surrounding community. For site-specific projects, she uses a collaborative planning process, involving the client and/or community to develop a mural design that responds to the local context and site objectives. Her murals are bold and imaginative, often incorporating subtle references to local landmarks or geographic features. Davey studied painting at Dartmouth College and has since completed art residencies in Vermont and Greece. Her paintings are included in public and private collections around the United States, Canada, and Europe.
