Future Ready Columbus is thrilled to bring the 4-Session Conscious Discipline Training Series to Franklin County!Conscious Discipline Master Instructor Lety Valero is leading the first of four trainings on Saturday, September 24th from 8:30am to 3:30pm at Columbus State Community College. Trainings are offered monthly and scheduled for October 1st, November 5th, and November 12th. Each session will cover a different topic, and you will receive an incentive for your time and participation, as well as Ohio Approved Credits. Additionally, breakfast and lunch will be provided at all sessions. All sessions are FREE to early childhood professionals who provide publicly funded child care, Home Visiting, Early Intervention, Head Start, Early Head Start, public preschool, or library services to children prenatal to kindergarten entry ages. Currently, we are only offering this series for in person attendance. We will send additional information via our network should other attendance options become available. Parking & TransportationFree and convenient parking is available in the parking lots surrounding Mitchell Hall or on the street. Parking also is available behind Mitchell Hall. About Conscious DisciplineTraumatic experiences have a significant impact on a child’s ability to learn, participate in a classroom setting and interact with others. More and more children in Franklin County are being affected by trauma and demonstrating these challenging behaviors. Conscious Discipline has been proven to reduce problematic behaviors in children, reduce stress for classroom professionals, and reduce turnover rates for employees. This training does not just support children who have experienced trauma. The Conscious Discipline approach will teach early childhood professionals to create classrooms that help ALL children to control their behaviors, participate with others, make friends, make good decisions and learn.
