A series of two workshops to be held 11/14 & 11/21 from 4pm to 6:30pm. Painting for Fashion – Foundations of Painting and Textile Painting. The two workshops are designed for anyone who is interested in learning the art of painting onto fabrics such as denim. Whether you have experience in painting or not, these workshops are designed for any level of artistry from beginner to experienced. Utilizing professional grade materials, instructor Aliyah Lacombe will guide students to learn skills and techniques exploring various methods, color theory, and concepts of acrylic painting that will be carried out in a studio setting. Students will translate learned skills and techniques onto fabrics, learning about different mediums and uses, procedures, applications and results. By the end of Workshop I & II, students will have painted on a denim garment of their own choice. Workshops will be held on 11/14 & 11/21 from 4pm to 6:30pn at 235 Main Street, Norwich CT, 06360. FREE parking located on the sides and behind the building. *All general supplies are included with program fee. Embellishments such as patches provided for the denim garment project during Workshop II are also included in the program fee. For denim garment project in Workshop II, students are asked to provide their own garment such as a denim jacket, denim pants or apparel item of their own choosing.
