Description

Our popular Palisades Tree Walk is returning this fall! Join Casey Trees and Capital Nature for an easy paced, 75-minute tree walk at Palisades Community Center as we appreciate the beauty of trees, the changing leaves, and the crisp fresh air in the height of the fall season. Capital Nature is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing nature into the lives of Washington Metro area residents and visitors. We believe that people are healthier and our communities more resilient when nature is part of our lives. We envision a Washington DC region where a culture of nature engagement and stewardship thrives. Casey Trees is a nonprofit organization working to restore, enhance, and protect the urban tree canopy of Washington, DC, supporting the citywide goal of 40% tree canopy by 2032. Feel free to ask during the walk if you're interested in receiving free trees for your home or community, or want to learn more about our upcoming events. We love to connect people to trees, through trees! During this walk, we'll learn about key tree species including willow oak, pin oak, sugar maple, and the diminutive eastern redbud. We'll have time during and after the walk for mingling, chatting, and getting to know our nature-loving neighbors. We hope you can join us! Casey Trees Species guides will be available to use to identify trees. You may also purchase your own species guide as an add-on when you purchase your event ticket, but purchase of a guide is not necessary to participate! No tree identification experience necessary.
