Description

The annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball is a celebration of Marine Corps history and traditions. It represents where the Marine Corps began and where it is now; while giving us a glimpse of the past, present, and future. Throughout the world, on or around 10 November, Marines celebrate the birth of their Corps; the most loyal, feared, revered, and professional fighting force the world has ever known. The Marine Corps League, Acadiana Detachment 488, is proud to host this special event. Our Cake Cutting is open to the community, Veterans, and active duty military. It is our privilege to share this unique event of Marine Corps history and tradition that few get to experience. Please join us in celebrating the 247th Marine Corps Birthday. PROGRAM: Doors open at 6:00 PM and ceremony begins at 7:00 PM. ATTIRE: Traditionally, the Marine Corps Cake Cutting is a formal event. However, semi-formal / business casual attire is acceptable. Marine Corps League members, if possible, should wear their Red Coat and appropriate dress uniform. All other members should wear their MCL cover. MEAL: After the ceremony, there will be a buffet style dinner. Ticket cost includes food, iced tea, salad, dessert, coffee, and gratuity. DRINKS: No alcohol will be served. However, you may bring any beer or spirits at no additional cost. Soft drinks will be available. SPECIAL GUESTS: It is our pleasure to welcome the widows of our deceased fellow Acadiana Detachment members as our Guests of Honor.
