The Contra Costa County Public Works Department is offering an excellent opportunity to fill temporary Custodian II positions. This position is temporary and does not include benefits. Typical tasks include • Cleaning, sweeping, and mopping • Washing windows, ceilings and walls • Measuring cleaning solutions • Emptying waste baskets, recycle bags and trash containers • Clean, disinfect and polish drinking fountains and restrooms • Changing lightbulbs or tubes while working on a ladder or scaffolding • Operate electric scrubbers, buffers and vacuum cleaners The ideal candidate will possess the following: • Experience performing manual work, including custodial and janitorial office cleaning • Experience cleaning in a commercial, industrial or public agency setting • Ability to provide friendly and efficient service • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions Minimum Qualifications: License Required: Possession of a valid California motor vehicle operator's license. Out of state valid motor vehicle operator's license will be accepted during the application process. Experience: One (1) year of full-time (or the equivalent of full-time) experience performing custodial maintenance in a commercial, industrial or public agency.
