Join the Boston Public Market each month for a conversation about local food and nutrition topics featuring a panel of experts. Market Chats is a new monthly lecture series aimed to engage and educate customers through conversations about food and nutrition topics with a panel featuring local farmers, entrepreneurs, journalists, chefs, and more. Events are free and open for all to enjoy, and include complimentary craft beer and snacks. Schedule (check back here or www.bostonpublicmarket.org for upcoming event details): Thursday, February 27th at 6pm | Food Blogging Join us for a discussion about food blogging with Lauren Stein (@laurenkstein), cookbook author, recipe developer and mom of three kids balancing food, family, and life; Brian Samuels (@briansamuelsphotography), Boston-based food photographer featured in several cookbooks and publications; and Dan Whalen (@tfimb), founder and creator of the popular recipe blog The Food in My Beard. Learn how they all first found their start and the steps towards developing a growing blog and social media following. Thursday, March 26th at 6pm | Transparency in Food SourcingLearn about transparency in food sourcing with a panel of industry experts: Monica Rogan, Founder & Head Chocolate Maker of Goodnow Farms (single origin, ethically sourced craft chocolate bars), Jamey Lionette, Director of Sustainable Seafood at Red's Best (premiere source for traceable seafood caught by local fishermen), and Jon Olinto, Founder of One Mighty Mill (growing, milling, and making "wheat you can eat"). Hear their thoughts on how local food companies are prioritizing better communication with customers about their products, and how to build unique and traceable supply chains.
