Description

For once you are correct and The “gun problem” was solved in 1791 when the Bill of Rights was ratified. It stated: A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. But as usual you and the rest of the pro gun citizens are ignoring the fact that it was written in 1791 and they a well-regulated militia was necessary as well as the people needing to bare arms. It does not state the right to bear arms forever or as long as these United States exist. This is the only part of the Constitution and Bill of Rights that has never been amended to fit society's changes or the fact that we know have Military Branches that protect us and private citizens are no longer needed to support a militia. Everytime I see someone pisting or quoting these words given the year they were put to paper it is almost laughable(if gun violence wasn't so tragic) that to this day pro gun people are steadfast in their believe that these rights should not be amended. Single shot hand guns, rifles and other weapons considered standard should remain a citizen's right to bare. All others should be deemed illegal and an amendment stating this is way over due. And spare me, "the bad guys and robers have them", so we need them because the only crimes or violence I have seen committed with such weapons are the mass shootings of our young and innocent. Nothing was written in stone and our forefathers bew there would be a need to change the context of these documents as society grew and changed.
