"Capitalism is the only form of government that gives everyone a chance to do better " ...........................Really?.....Perhaps you would enlighten us by defining the term "Better". 50% of Americans will retire completely broke. Poverty is a major problem in most states but especially Red states. A large percentage of US children go to bed hungry every night. Was that the "better" you were talking about? What you have is a bad case of egocentrism. You believe your government is the best government because you've been indoctrinated since childhood. I've got news for ya.....people living under other governmental systems also believe they have the best government.....and they too have the same problems we do. Capitalism allows big business and dark money to influence law makers to their advantage and to disenfranchise its citizens. It's subvert corruption. In other countries its more overt but corruption none-the-less. You're just like every other American peon who thinks they are living in the land of opportunity but you are really just a worker bee in a preconditioned society designed to generate revenue for the rich. Why do you think Americans work more hours and take less vacation than other capitalist societies? Why do you think the Conservative party fought for years to keep the minimum wage as low as possible? Why do you think conservatives never complained about illegal immigration when they worked for pennies on the dollar but it became a real issue when they had to pay them a fair rate? The rich are greedy and us worker bees cut into their profits if the Govt. cant control wages! For a land of such "opportunity" don't you think we'd be able to work less and vacation more? Opportunity is relative to wealth. That's why, under capitalism, 50% of all wealth is controlled by the top 2%. Some day you will wake up, if you're lucky, and realize you've been brainwashed to be a happy, egocentric, worker bee. In the meantime, you will continue to live a life of ignorant bliss, working 40+ hours a week and living pay check to pay check like 80% of society. Oh happy days..... The quality (betterment) of life is not measured by the number of "opportunities" you have to work a 40-60 hr. work week, just to put food on the table and pay the rent!
