Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kurtistown is a no-kill shelter for dogs and cats. They have many wonderful dogs and cats that need attention and care while they wait to be adopted. Most have been there for many months and some even years. They have a tiny staff that is doing everything possible to take care of the animals, but it's not enough. The sanctuary could use volunteers to help walk dogs and also help with the cats. If you live in the Hilo area, love animals, and have the extra time, the pups and kitties at Rainbow Friends would love to receive some of your time and attention. Doesn't matter if you only have a couple of hours a week, once a week, or more, any amount of time you can volunteer is appreciated.
