JOB DESCRIPTION – 20-40 hours a week at a church that completely accepts and loves all people including those houseless or queer. We also wear masks when COVID numbers are up, to protect the vulnerable children and adults in our building. If this is a problem you will not be a good fit.
1. The custodian confers with Office Manager to coordinate weekly event needs.
2. Provides routine cleaning
a. Daily – empty trash, clean washrooms, make sure all bathroom supplies are full and in working order, checks all areas for dust and general cleanliness
b. Weekly – Dust and vacuum sanctuary, vacuum all carpeting including stairways, dust mop and damp mop gym, fellowship hall, and all classrooms. Spot clean glass throughout the building. Deep clean fellowship hall on Wednesday afternoons.
c. Monthly – Shampoo carpet when needed.
d. Yearly – coordinate with church community deep cleaning of windows and any repair needs
3. Minor maintenance of the facilities
a. Unplugging toilets
b. Light painting
c. Emergency clean ups/spills as needed
d. Snow removal and ice melt dispersion on and near church entrances.
4. Order supplies for cleaning all facets of the building (if needed, coordinate delivery with the Office Manager)
5. Order supplies for the washrooms if needed, coordinate delivery with the Office.
6. Sets up rooms for special events including moving chairs and tables.
7. Cleans kitchen and puts away dishes/kitchen-ware when needed.
