ArtStatic Dance Party Where Art meets Ecstatic Dance Come DANCE to a mix of up-beat, tribal, and soulful, electronic music, where you become the art! We begin our experience with a guided dance biomechanics lesson as the Back Room Gallery turns into a dance space. LEARN to flow through your body's joints. CONNECT to the natural energetic pathways flowing through you. EXPLORE your mobility, range of motion and fluidity. This workshop is open to everyone, no experience necessary! Our guides and DJ's, Barbie and Aloha, will teach you to string all of these movement techniques together, allowing you to create a dance that is unique and specific to you! Have fun and be playful while moving freely and effortlessly in your body. Once you find your flow and are feeling ready to be seen, join our collective shadow-dance art piece. Project your expressive movement silhouette onto a canvas, to be montaged together with your fellow ArtStatic Family's dances. We will be focusing on themes of giving, and of gratitude, to help connect us to the Thanksgiving season. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that will silhouette nicely. Such as, well-fitting clothes, flowy fabrics, and sheer materials. Our dance floor is open to LED props, so flow artists are welcome to come and play! No refund will be given if less than seventy two (72) hours notice of the cancellation is given. BIOS Barbara Alfonzo & Jesicca Aloha, cousins, born in Venezuela, have taken similar paths in life. Each are international yoga teachers, health enthusiasts, performers, and newly Ecstatic Dance guides... and Djs! For years, the couple have been inspiring one another along their own personal journeys, as well as supporting each other's endeavors with complimenting skill sets. The two grew up in households where dance parties were a regular thing. Their latin roots have influenced the pairs musical taste. They infuse a mixture of world beats, afro house, deep bass, drums, soulful house, and live music into their dj sets. They love taking the crowd through a dance journey with powerful messages and high vibe beats. With backgrounds as yoga instructors, they guide their experiences with a lot of love, care, and mindfulness. Their spunk, funky twists, and fluid movements come from their backgrounds as performance artists. Locally, the duo, better known as "Las Chamas", host monthly ecstatic dance parties across South Florida. They have been growing quite an audience by playing at major music festivals to the likes of: Art with Me Miami, Okeechobee Music Fest, and Spirit of the Suwanee's Hulaween. Their great success has largely been attributed to the way they lead their experiences. Trading off between being in the dj booth, while their partner guides and dances with the crowd. Las Chamas are quite the partnership to experience! Offering so much more than a mere musical set, they are an interactive performance.
