For the Hip-Hop enthusiasts, music historians, Black, and brown communities throughout Southeast Texas who’ve continued to support Pimp C’s legacy. The event is Welcoming to ALL who wish to show up with peace, love, and respect. Our intention is to educate, celebrate, and create memories that build foundation for the next wave of music, art, and culture being fostered in Texas cities. UGK’s Influence on A$AP Rocky – Zanida Banks-Rollins. President of SUNY Oneonta Song Writer's Club goes in-depth with how much she learned about hip-hop history and UGK's influences on NYC contemporaries like A$AP Rocky. c. 1996 - 'One Day' by UGK was released on the group's third studio album titled Ridin' Dirty. Released on indie label Jive Records, this track features many of Pimp C's production techniques such as his signature double hi-hats, 70's influences, and emphasis on heavy use of the Hammond B3 organ. Without any promotion, Ridin' Dirty's popularity with fans and total units sold minted this project certified Gold.
