American Wilbert is looking for someone with general skills who is interested in learning all aspects of creating granite memorial stones at our production facility located in Carol Stream, IL. As a family-owned, small business, this role requires someone who is self-motivated and a true team player. Individuals with prior stone cutting, polishing, sandblasting, or similar craftsmanship skills encouraged to apply but prior experience is not necessary. If you are willing to learn, we will train. This is an hourly, non-exempt position. This position works 6am-2:00pm Monday-Friday. Responsibilities: • Assists in production of granite monuments in a variety of roles • Assist in sandblasting area by prepping stone, placing stencil on product, and ensuring a steady flow of production is maintained • Assist with loading and unloading trucks • Responsible for being attentive to detail such as stencil spacing, final design proofing on the product, and double-checking orders and final drafts • Assist with keeping work areas free of debris Skills: • Ability to proof read orders, ensuring accuracy • Ability to work with customers and delivery partners to prepare, load and unload product shipments • Good communication and teamworking skills • Ability and desire to learn other production line functions and take on more responsibility • Ability to follow safety rules and ensure compliance with the operating procedures of corporate, federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA regulations and safety guidelines Position Details: • Hourly – Non-Exempt • Monday – Friday • On-site at facility in Carol Stream 6:00am – 2:00pm • Compensation is commensurate with experience and growth within the role • Includes Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays • Medical, Dental, Vision and Employee Life Insurance available • Position available immediately • Starting hourly rate is $18.00 per hour • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen Job Type: Full-time
