Looking for on call apprentice/ laborer

Jobs

Bellingham WA

Description

I am looking for a helper for general labor, and construction projects. Pay is $20 per hour cash or electronic payment. Could turn into an apprenticeship position for the right person. Work is on call this time of year, when the sun is out there is likely work. We will have to work in the rain at times so a rain coat, waterproof boots and warm clothes are required. I am a young, respectful and fair employer who cares about the safety and happiness of those I hire. I will not give you a hard time for making mistakes, I do ask that you are willing to respect my experience and try your best to improve your skills over time. I don’t discriminate against race, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, politics, life choices outside of work etc. you shouldn’t either. You: - Have a flexible or open enough schedule, and reliable transportation. - have good comprehension skills - like/ willing to learn - are trust worthy enough to work alone and follow a task list to completion - maintains a positive attitude even during difficult tasks - is always professional around clients - respectful to me and my equipment - are consistently on time and always give soonest possible notice if something comes up where you will be late/ not be able to make it, so I can have time to find a replacement helper. This is likely the most important quality. If you can’t do this, please do not apply. - gender is not important, you must be physically able to lift 50- 60 lbs repeatedly sometimes. (I have a back injury and you will be doing almost all the heavy lifting, digging, etc) - I would prefer if you know how to use basic tools such as a drill, impact driver, tape measure, speed square, etc. it is not a requirement, however it is required that you watch a few training videos I send you on your own time if you are applying and have no experience with using basic tools. - Ability to not show up high. I don’t care if you smoke, but while you are working remembering details and having all your motor skills is essential. - Smoking cigarettes on customers property is not ever allowed. If you can’t go 4 hours without a smoke, this is not a good fit. This can turn into a long term/ full time position after the winter or remain on call depending on your work ethic and schedule preferences. - As a trial job I have a small project coming up this Saturday at 10am that I will need someone to dig one hole and pour concrete to replace a broken fence post.- If this sounds like you please send me an email telling me: Your first and last name, age, current schedule, previous work history/ skills, a bit about yourself and why you would be a good fit for the job. Thanks :)
