HBCU LITERACY HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE 2022Presented by Brown Hands Literacy, United Way Cincinnati Black Empowerment Works & Rising Stars of America Please join us this holiday season as we celebrate, educate, and highlight the excellence of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) while building a love for literacy. This is a community celebration geared towards families and children of all ages. We are celebrating the rich history of HBCUs and their existence through HBCU children's books, literacy activities, music, members of The Divine Nine, and representatives from HBCUs. The event will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 1:30 PM at Kennedy Heights Lindner Event Center, 6546 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45213. Attendees will receive a free HBCU t-shirt, free bookbags with school supplies, HBCU children's book (while supplies last) along with information about engaging literacy strategies to help youth improve their reading skills. HBCU alumni, institutional leaders, supporters and students of Historically Black Colleges and Universities will be in attendance so come rep your HBCU! In addition to this incredible afternoon, we are delighted to have Latoya Turner discuss her children's book, "Brown Hands, Black Schools HBCUs."
