There's a lot to know about the dangers an avalanche can pose to anybody recreating in the snowy backcountry and this event will provide an introduction to those dangers. This is not an avalanche course certification—it's just a way for anyone considering backcountry winter adventures among slopes that could slide. Colorado Mountain School will share some basics about the dangers and statistics on how serious avalanches can be. Even if someone has taken an avalanche certification course, this event will help kickstart the brain to think about all of this and get ready for the season ahead. Stay safe.
