In this workshop, you will learn the basics of modern calligraphy and brush lettering with professional calligrapher, Katrina, of KLR Calligraphy. This workshop is perfect for beginners who have never tried calligraphy or held a brush pen or for those who are looking to hone their skills. By the end of the course, you’ll have created a beautiful project to display in your home or gift to a friend! Come enjoy a night of creativity, light refreshments, wine, and new friends! This workshop will be held at The Cocktailery, a stunning craft cocktail shop near uptown, Charlotte, NC. Your instructor, Katrina, will walk you through the workshop step-by-step and break down the basics of modern calligraphy in a fun and easily digestible way! No prior experience needed. Classes are totally beginner friendly and welcomes all levels of calligraphy enthusiasts. You can use this new skill to add pretty lettering decor to your snail mail, birthday gifts, wedding stationary, home decor and so much more! In this workshop, you will learn: - the basics of modern calligraphy using a brush pen - how to hold your brush pen - the basic strokes (letter formation) of calligraphy - how to use basic strokes to create the alphabet - how to connect letters to make words - how to use calligraphy to create a beautiful hand-made project ... and meet awesome new people in the process! You will be provided with all of the necessary supplies needed including brush pens, calligraphy practice paper, and a calligraphy workbook custom made by Katrina specifically for this workshop.
