Many people have been asking for this event. Mark your calendars. The event is free and all are welcome. You can save a seat by reserving free tickets here, although there should be plenty of space available for showing up at the door.
Author Janisse Ray--along with Richard Woods, Kim Woods Miller, and other members of the Woods family--will be present to talk about Ray's new novel, THE WOODS OF FANNIN COUNTY.
Janisse will talk about the project and read a couple of short sections from the book, then members of the family will discuss their story as it is portrayed in the book. This will be followed by a question-&-answer session.
This is the first and only event that has been held since the book was released in early September 2022. Very few events will be held for this project. This reading and discussion is being held in Baxley, because this is the town where the children lived and graduated from high school, after they were rescued from a 4-year stay in a shanty in the mountains of Fannin County, Georgia.
The event is to be held in the Community Room of the Courthouse Annex in downtown Baxley, GA, starting at 6 pm.
Light refreshments will be served.
The author and the family will be available to sign your copy of the book. If you need a copy, books will be for sale.
