Description
Guitar/bass/keys based out of Denver have found each other and we're looking for a great drummer to round out a lineup and set up a jam. We're just at the start of this journey. We are hoping to make music we would want to listen to, both originals and creative covers. We enjoy group improvisation just as much as songcrafting. Not looking to make a living on music, rather looking to music to make living better.
if you:
- love love LOVE to make music,
- are minimally theory literate, and consider yourself to be technically proficient
- have broad tastes and big ears and are not afraid to experiment and improvise ("jamband" should not be a dirty word)
- prioritize the intrinsic worth of music itself and not the commercial business success of a band (no delusions of grandeur or hired guns please)
- yet, have been in gigging bands before and know what that's all about
- are responsible and reliable
we should get together and jam.
You'd be coming into a situation where we can work from a good set of originals, but it's still wide open. nothing is off the table. we're expecting new band members to bring new flavors in. we want that. We don't have any recordings of ourselves yet but if you reply we can send links to prior and other projects. here's one to get you started: www.soundcloud.com/davidtaus
bands/sounds we like: grateful dead, bill frisell, snarky puppy, late era miles, phish, herbie hancock, fela, the band, beastie boys (instrumentals!), radiohead, paul simon, STS9, talking heads, the crusaders, vulfpeck, jimmy smith, old motown, 80's and 90's radio hits, anything eno touches, radio hits from the 90s, piano jazz.
drop a line if this sounds like you. send us a link to the awesome sounds that you make and if it all looks good let's set something up. we can't wait to jam.
