Democrats are frantically trying to gain an advantage for the midterm elections. They are even willing to misuse the power of the federal government. Joe Biden took a stupidly desperate step to try and save Democrats. President Biden announced the release of another 15 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve Wednesday before trying to deny that it was a political strategy to drive down gas prices temporarily before the midterm elections. “What is your response to Republicans who say you are only doing this SPR release to help Democrats in the midterms?” a reporter asked Biden at the White House. The president tried to brush off the question by stating, “Where have they been in the last four months? That’s my response.” Biden ordered oil released from the reserve nearly seven months so it’s not clear what he was trying to claim happened within the last “four months.” Another journalist pressed, “Is it politically motivated, sir? It’s three weeks before the midterms.” “Look, it makes sense,” Biden said. “I’ve been doing this for how long now? It’s not politically motivated at all,” he added. “It’s motivated to make sure that I continue to push on what I’ve been pushing on.” “The problem is these guys are asleep,” Biden went on, in an apparent reference to oil companies. “I don’t know where they’ve been. And they seem — you know, the price at the pump should reflect what the price of a barrel of oil costs.” Biden then tried to avoid responsibility and claimed the accusations that his administration’s actions stalled American energy production were “myths” “Let’s debunk some myths here. My administration has not stopped or slowed U.S. oil production. Quite the opposite. We’re producing 12 million barrels of oil per day by the end of this year we will be producing one million barrels a day more than the day which I took office.” The Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee responded to Biden with just one word: “Liar.” A tweet from @Rasmussen_poll exposed what the Biden administration had done to stop or slow U.S. oil production. “Yes, let’s debunk some myths about your administration,” the caption read. The tweet shared a CNBC article from a week after Biden was sworn in as president which stated, “Biden suspends oil and gas leasing in slew of executive actions on climate change.” “Someone tell the DOJ so that they stop litigating Louisiana v. Biden seeking to stop and slow U.S. oil production,” Ted Frank added. Indiana Congressional candidate Jennifer-Ruth Green added, “Joe Biden canceled the Keystone XL pipeline and halted all oil and gas leases on federal lands in just his first week in office. He reversed our energy independence and all he can do now is lie.” But Biden doesn’t want to actually undo the damage that he’s caused. He just wants to alleviate the pain that Americans are feeling just for a little bit until elections are over. I keep hearing on ABC news that gas is at $3.59 per gallon. I wish it was that cheap here because I just paid $5.39 per gallon yesterday. Will Jay Inslee suspend the state gas tax for a few months to help out Washington residents?
