CAREER FAIR FOR: (BRONX, MANHATTAN, QUEENS LOCATIONS) Homes for the Homeless (HFH) provides NYC families experiencing homelessness with more than just a place to sleep. On any given day, nearly 530 families with 725 children ages 0 to 18 reside in safe, clean shelters - our family residences. These family residences provide a host of services focused on HFH's three pillars: education, employment, and social services designed to meet parents and children's immediate and ongoing needs. Our goal is for families who move on from HFH family residences to achieve family and housing stability. Location: 730 Kelly Street, Bronx, NY 10455 Positions Available Below: Deputy Administrator Experience in Social Services, Counseling, or Education is a plus. Master’s Degree preferred, with at least a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Minimum seven (7) years of experience in a relevant field, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory role. Ability to provide exemplary customer service to residents and other stakeholders, and ability to remain calm under pressure. Bilingual is a plus. Driver High school diploma or equivalent. Two years’ driving experience. Must possess a valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets agency standards. Must provide complete driving abstract from the Department of Motor Vehicles before hire, and regularly once hired. Housekeeper/Porter Experience in custodial work. Familiar with the proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals. Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift to 60 pounds. Be able to stand for long periods (up to 9 hours). Maintenance Worker High School Diploma or GED. Minimum two years of experience in general maintenance. Must know about plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and drywall repairs. Familiar with the proper use of power tools. Knowledge and ability to utilize computer and related technology efficiently. Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift to 60 pounds. Be able to stand for long periods (up to 9 hours). Capable of performing duties with limited supervision. Availability to work a flexible schedule. Case Manager Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field. Familiarity with case management, entitlement systems, and a knowledge of issues that impact families is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Client Care Coordinator Must have a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Sociology or a similar degree. Applicants may have an Masters in Social Work (MSW), or a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Master Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York. Familiarity with substance use disorders and addiction treatment services, domestic violence, child abuse and maltreatment, trauma, and mental health conditions. Sensitivity and awareness of working with homeless and vulnerable populations is a plus. Bilingual is a plus. Housing Specialist Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree. At least one year of relevant experience. Experience working with brokers and landlords. Ability to travel by public transportation to all 5 boroughs and outside of NYC. Bi-lingual a plus. Safety Aide High school diploma or equivalent. Valid NYS Security Guard License. Current 8-hour annual certificate. Fire Guard (F-02) – a plus –Must obtain within three months of employment. Certificate of Fitness (F-80) – a plus. Safety Supervisor High school diploma or equivalent. Security or law enforcement experience with one-year supervisory experience preferred. Valid NYS Security License. Valid F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator Certificate of Fitness. Current 8-hour certificate. 16-hour certificate.
