We are looking for an “on-site” maintenance/management assistant for a beachside apartment building in Marina, CA 93933 (On the coast of Monterey Bay). Position requires knowledge and ability to perform all types of routine maintenance repairs. Also, knowledge in property management would be helpful. General work hours are from 9:00am-2:00pm Tuesday through Saturday. This is an on-call position in the event of an emergency maintenance or tenant issue. Opportunity for additional work hours may be available depending on workload. Compensation will include housing and hourly wages. Housing includes a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment with washer and dryer, outdoor area, and two parking spaces. Must live on-site. Utilities included are water, internet, and garbage. No smoking/pets. Hourly rate $22.00 an hour. Approximate value of total compensation: housing $2,500.00 / wages $2,200.00 Total $4,700.00/month. Candidates will be subject to background check. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, reliable transportation, and insurance is required. General skills and abilities required, but are not limited to: - Friendly yet professional disposition. - Assess priorities, give attention to detail, multi-task and meet deadlines. - Strong communication skills including fluency in English. - Present a neat, clean, professional appearance while on the job. - Basic computer proficiency such as searching topics and order supplies. - Own basic tools to effect routine repairs as needed. Other tools will be provided. - Ability to lift, carry push or pull up to 60lbs. - Ability to sit, walk or stand for extended periods of time, intermittent bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting/moving/carrying (light to heavy weight material/appliances/ equipment), climbing ladders/stairs, and walking on rooftops - Must have normal range of hearing, vision, color discrimination and depth perception for proper operation of machines and equipment General maintenance responsibilities include supporting staff in completing apartment turnovers, or addressing work orders and general maintenance needs of the buildings. More specifically, diagnose problems and complete repairs in the areas related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, dry wall, paint, exterior structural and appliances. General management responsibilities include support staff in overseeing the daily activities of leasing, collections, resident relations, general office administration and policy & procedure compliance.
