Democracy may be dead, but at least its cemetery is chill AF. This October, Grassroots Comedy presents a Halloween Spooktacular raising funds to help preserve and restore historic landmark Congressional Cemetery! Congressional Cemetery, with the first burial in 1807, is among the oldest institutions in D.C. and the final resting place for scores of individuals who were instrumental in the founding of the nation and its new capitol city. Today -- in addition to being a National Historic Landmark and an active cemetery-- they're a creative community space that promotes innovative and sustainable practices, such as beekeeping, grazing goats, and a dog-walking program, plus being the only D.C. cemetery offering green burials. With options like these, who wouldn't want to memento mori? We’ll be getting into the spirit with a killer lineup of comedians plus some extra macabre merriment throughout the show -- almost tomb much fun! Tickets will be going fast, so get yours while you can! Of corpse, we'll have a costume contest, so costumes/Halloween flair encouraged. This is an outdoor event at Kramers, our favorite neighborhood haunt! So get your costume together and grab your tickets, because missing this show would be a grave mistake.
