This is the Samhain holiday (Oct 31 / Nov 1) of the Celtic Wheel of the Year cycle. This is a major holiday, traditionally, often called "the Witches' New Year". It marks the time when the veil between the underworld of death, and the ordinary world of life, is at its thinnest. It also symbolizes the moment the Sun King has completed his process in the underworld and is conceived as new life, destined to be born on Yule (the next holiday, Dec 21). This ritual space will be led by Katherine Newell Okojie. Activities will include: celebrating and communing with those who have passed onsymbolic rituals and handicrafts themed around the "Witches' New Year"an exploration of various ancestral traditions around this time of year, and feeling into how the impending eclipse season intersects with the energies of this yearWe invite all participants to bring mementos or photos of folks who have passed to place on the communal altar, and to bring a food item for the potluck that has personal significance for you and your family, whether that's an ancestral food or a more modern tradition in your family around this time of year. 🎃🎃🎃 These community ritual spaces are brought to you by Fractal Praxis.
