Our 40,000 square foot receiving, storage, and distribution center, located in the Howell Mill Road area of Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, opened for business in February 2012. Although the company is new to the Atlanta area, the individuals involved have been working with stores and designers here for more than ten years. The owner is originally from the southwest of England and has spent five years working with galleries and auction houses in New York, including Sotheby's, Christie's and Phillips de Pury, and six years working in the designer services industry in Atlanta, covering all aspects of art and antiques handling. From inspection to delivery and installation, from packing and crating to international and domestic shipping, he has established a strong reputation as the person to trust with our client’s customers valued items. Delivery Driver – Furniture Do you believe in “doing the job right the first time?” Are you hands-on and strive for quality instead of quantity? Do you place safety above all else? If so, we want to speak with you! As our client’s Delivery Driver, you’ll drive a 26’ box trucks locally and routes throughout the southeastern US as well as perform the following: • Work unsupervised over the road on out of town services. • Secure loading and unloading trucks. • Wrap and pack art works and objects for safe transit. • Open, unpack, repack, and fasten crates and packages for inspections or transport. • Perform basic written inspections of all artworks and objects being transported on trucks. • Complete Bills of Lading and related industry paperwork. Qualifications: Experience/Knowledge • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with handling and installing fine arts or design furniture moves. • A basic knowledge of warehouse handling, equipment, and truck logistics. • Knowledge of handling large variety of art works, objects, and wooden crates. Driving • Valid driver’s license / CDL license not required but beneficial. • Clean personal and employment driving record. • Comfortable driving and managing activities related to a 26’ box truck. • Understands and complies with DOT rules and regulations. Technical • Familiar with industry material standards for wide scenario of wrapping and packing and handling methods. • Proficient with handling, installation and packing techniques for wide variety of specialized installations and scheduled collections and deliveries. • Able to safely lift and maneuver objects of substantial size and weight (at least 50lbs) on a daily basis, physically and mechanically without damage to object or person. • Forklift and scissors lift operation with certified experience preferred but not required. • Rigging and object handling knowledge with a variety of objects/artworks is beneficial.
