Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and a call-to-action. Stop the Bleed is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. This class is free to the public.
In 60 minutes, participants will learn how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene by applying a tourniquet to an extremity, or by packing a wound with gauze or cloth and holding pressure. The actions by an immediate responder, which this course will teach you how to be, can save a life!
Afterwards, attendees to this class are most welcome to stay for the Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) class which runs from 9:30am to 12:00pm. Past CRASE attendees have joined the host and instructors for lunch afterwards at Enchilada's Mexican Restaurant at 7050 Greenville Avenue (0.4 miles away, North).
See bottom of event page for link for free registration to CRASE.
