Do you self-identify as Black or African-American? Are you a resident of Buncombe County/the City of Asheville? The Reparations Stakeholder Authority of Asheville (RSAA) invites you to our kick-off event, Blackity Black Viewing of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in 3D! The RSAA is a Reparations Finance Authority that manages the distribution of monetary reparations to Black citizens in Buncombe County, North Carolina. We work to directly benefit our local Black communities, and to heal the harms caused by systemic racism and discriminatory practices. We envision a future where the United States of America has fully atoned for the harms of chattel slavery, the transatlantic slave trade, redlining and other manifestations of systemic racism. Come learn more about what the RSAA does and watch Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in 3D! Note: Due to funding restrictions, these tickets are only available for Black Buncombe County residents aged 18 or older. Attire: All white or African dress. Or anything you feel comfortable and amazing in! While costumes are welcome, Regal does not allow admission to guests wearing masks, face paint or face-obscuring hoods, or possessing weapons, props, or fake weapons. COVID-19 Precautions: To protect the most vulnerable folks in our community, all attendees must wear a face mask. Masks will be available in the auditorium if you need one.
