Hostages No More Goldwater will host a fireside chat in Phoenix with former U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos at 7pm at the Scottsdale Plaza. Sec. DeVos will be discussing her most recent book, Hostages No More, and her time advancing school choice both before and during her time in the Trump Administration. For decades, DeVos has been one of the country’s most influential advocates for school choice, due process, and protecting free speech on campus. Teachers unions and far-left activists have made her a top target—going so far as to try to physically block from her visiting a school when she was Secretary of Education. Through it all, she has stood up to the powerful interests who control and benefit from the status quo in education and helped countless families access better education for their children. Meanwhile, Goldwater has taken Educational Savings Accounts (ESAs) from a basic concept to thriving programs in ten states—with legislation to start or expand ESAs in 13 states. During the fireside chat, Victor and Sec. DeVos will discuss how Goldwater was able to achieve this success, and what the future of the school choice movement looks like.
