Found gray cat near S. Dudley St.

My boyfriend and I found a friendly gray male cat crying near a vacant apartment. Since it was a cold night, we welcomed the cat inside and gave him food. He was very hungry and thirsty but doesn't appear hurt or matted. Took him to the vet today but doesn't have a microchip and didn't have a collar when we found him. Have posted him online on multiple sites and put up flyers, will take him in if he is unclaimed.
