ATTLEBORO, MA — The Massachusetts House and Senate agreed on a $627 million economic development bill early Wednesday morning, which would provide up to $750,000 for projects in Attleboro. The bill, which was passed almost unanimously following a session that lasted until after 4 a.m., now heads to Gov. Charlie Baker's desk for approval. The bill would provide funding for the following projects in Attleboro: $250,000 for a feasibility study to identify an optimal location and operational model for a parking structure downtown$500,000 for a competitive grant program to be administered by the department of early education and care for licensed early education and care providers to assist with operating costs and costs associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will assist the towns of Attleboro, North Attleboro, Franklin, Millis, Natick, Needham, Norfolk, Plainville, Sherborn, Wayland, Wellesley, and Wrentham based on financial need, current reopening status, and future plans to reopen.
