If you are looking for a great team environment, where the company values you, apply today ! *PAY: $21-$22 SHIFT: 11PM-7:30AM Sun-Thursday* This is skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of light to medium duty packaging, processing and building equipment such as conveyors, elevators, blowers, sifters, burners, grinders, conventional & high speed packaging machines, labeling/printing equipment, vacuum & hydraulic pumps, cargo elevators, forklifts, and air compressors. Employees in this class work independently or with minimal supervision applying processing, packaging, mechanical knowledge and independent judgment in the operation, repair, overhaul and remanufacturing of plant equipment. Duties include operating, troubleshooting and performance testing of production/process machinery and preventive maintenance/work order assignments. Assignments are made orally or in writing; work is reviewed through observation of results obtained, conferences and periodic reports or evaluations. Responsibilities: • Operates and/or oversees the operation of packaging machine centers and processing systems. • Inspects, replaces, repairs and performs overhauls on mechanical drives/motors, pneumatic & hydraulic components, motor control center devices, transport conveyor systems and rotating, cutting, & grinding equipment. • Uses micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and other precision instruments to determine working clearances on mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components. • Performs typical building maintenance repairs through assigned work orders. • Performs basic machine shop duties such as drilling, grinding, lights metal fabrication, welding and machining. • Troubleshoots and repairs basic motor control centers utilizing volt and amp meters (after first 6 months). • Performs related work as assigned or required. • Complies with Safe Quality Food 2000 Code (SQF 2000 Code) Education & Experience • Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a G.E.D. Or two (2) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment. • Knowledge and ability to operate plant packaging, processing, and warehouse machinery/systems. • Knowledge of the basic operating principles of the electrical and mechanical systems and components found in most plant equipment. • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of repairing and operating industrial equipment. • Skill in the use of tools, machines and testing instruments used in the repair and overhaul of plant equipment and building services. • Ability to apply knowledge of equipment operating principles to diagnose and correct malfunctions in plant equipment. • Ability to use knowledge, creativity and initiative in recommending or implementing improvements in servicing methods, tools and equipment. • Ability to use manuals and schematics in servicing equipment. • Ability to endure long periods of standing, walking or working in inclement weather and possession of sufficient physical strength and agility to lift and move heavy objects.
