Jobs

25741 Sabina Ave. near Alicia and Muirlands, Mission Viejo CA

Description

Looking for 2 or 3 physically fit, able bodied people to install Christmas lighting on residences here in South Orange County. Must not be afraid of heights or ladders. We work right up to the edge of second story rooflines and if you’re afraid of heights or ladders, please don’t apply. I do have and will provide safety harnesses and other various types of safety equipment whenever and wherever it is needed. Safety is paramount to me. Please pay attention to the details of this ad and follow the instructions. This kind of work is detail oriented and if you cannot follow the directions here, more likely than not the same will hold true in the field. A Qualified Candidate for this position- **Must not be afraid of heights or climbing up & down ladders. **Must not be afraid to access/enter/exit safely onto and off roofs via a ladder **Must be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time. **Must have their own vehicle (in good running condition) that is able to get you to the jobsite. Truck or van with a ladder rack is even better and can be factored into compensation. (Yes, I am known to randomly to fill up your gas tank or give you gas money as deemed necessary). **Must live in South Orange County. Santa Ana & Garden Grove is not considered to be South Orange County. **Must be physically fit and under 185 lbs. (due to the nature of work that requires us to walk on rooftops (clay tile at times). **Must be able to bring your own food and drinks for the day (though I do always have extra water, drinks and small snacks on my work truck). Ill explain the reasoning for this requirement when we speak. (Yes, I am also known to have lunch or dinner delivered to the jobsite when necessary and/or appropriate). **Must be clean cut and presentable to the general public. **ABSOLUTELY no drugs or alcohol. This is self-explanatory. I don’t care what you do after hours, but I cannot have any of this on the job. People who like to drink the night before and arrive to a jobsite with a “hangover” presents a safety issue and are not preferred. I am very big on doing things right the first time around. I need for you to be punctual and on time for work. I need for you to be detail oriented. I need for you be organized. I need for you to be motivated and a self-starter. I need for you to possess the ability to think AND act “outside of the box” & problem solve without turning a situation into a half day project. I especially need for you to be able to follow directions to the “T”as I will initially be spending about a week or so training you. If at that point you are “not getting it”, I will have to part ways and find someone else. I’m not going to spend all season training people and paying top dollar for novice/crappy work. By the end of week 2, you should be to a point where I can send you out to jobs by yourself without me having to guide you the entire way. By the end of the season, I will have you trained to a point to where you can go off on your own next season and start up your own business installing Xmas lighting. There is plenty of work out there and I have no problem helping out the right person/s. I run my work schedule 7 days a week (I do not require you to work 7 days a week without a day/s off). Start and finish times can vary from day to day based upon the jobs that need to be completed according to the schedule. Hours of operation can be from as early as 6-7am to as late as 7-8pm. It’s important that you are able to be FLEXIBLE with the hours worked/available due to unknown problems that may arise, add-ons, changes/expansions on current jobs, new clients, or just to fulfill the days schedule. Again, this is seasonal work and will run up to, and around the 15th of December. I can’t have people that are having to “leave to pickup their kids from school” and come back, or have significant others or spouses that “cannot handle” you working some long hours. It’s a very short season, and I need rock solid, firm commitments from you. You will be paid more than fairly for that loyalty. Compensation for regular work will be discussed when we speak. Typical starting pay is anywhere from $18-$25/hr. CASH depending upon experience. Cash paid at the end of the day if necessary, but not preferred. BONUSES available & are based/determined upon daily or weekly goals that are met. CASH tips are 100% yours unless there are other team members on that particular job and shall be split evenly amongst that crew. I am even known to randomly cash tip you for a good days work. I pay full days wages if we get done early with the jobs scheduled (within reason) for that day. For example, if we have 4 or 5 jobs scheduled for the day and we get done at 2pm, I will pay out the rest of the day. I actually value your time. Qualified candidates with prior experience in holiday light installation is a bonus (hanging lights on your own home is not considered “experienced”). Candidates with prior experience in roofing, construction, electrical, cable and exterior painting is also a strong factor in hiring you. Please no resumes as I will not read them. You can however provide me with a small paragraph summarizing your experience(s) that would apply to this position. Upon meeting up with you, I will most probably have you demonstrate to me a typical ladder setup and your ability to climb and safely enter, access and exit my rooftop amongst a couple of other random problem solving “on the fly” situations to see how you would address them. I am starting installations this weekend October 28th or 29th and may have to meet up with you in the field. Pay close attention to this part of the ad. DO NOT call me directly, I will call you. I do accept and will read text messages. I also read my emails and prefer to communicate that way initially. Please leave your name and phone number in any communications with me. My cell phone number is nine 4 nine 2 two eight 3 zero seven 1. I will be conducting interviews and hiring people this week (10-24-2022). Thanks and I look forward to meeting up with you!
