General Labor I must have the ability to understand and communicate information is essential. Some tool and machines are computerized, requiring technical knowledge to use. Ability to communicate sometimes in both English and Spanish can help general laborers advance in their profession. Job purpose is to lift, fill, close, and package products. Essential Job Duties • General labor must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. • Laborers must also be able to concentrate on their tasks. • The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential. • Operate heavy machinery •Arriving at scheduled time, working where and as directed, and staying until work is done, or until supervisor and/or manager indicate work is done. Some overtime work may be scheduled and required. • Perform set-up and clean-up task • Provide labor support to other areas Qualifications • Must be 18 years of age or older • High school diploma/GED preferred • 2+ years’ production industry experience preferred • Basic understanding of production and procedures • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Comfort working in high stress, fast pace environment with extreme weather conditions • Ability to use both arms and hands to lift, load, cut, fill and package product. • Ability to work at a production conveyor line • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check Activities PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing. • Hearing • Must be able to hear average or normal conversation and receive ordinary information. Depending on work assignment must be able to work in a noisy work environment. • Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers. • Visual Abilities • Acute closed vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. • Physical Strength • Must be able to frequently lift light to heavy objects throughout the day. Must be able to exerts up to 50lbs of force occasionally. Ability to stand 8-12 hours per day on a cold, wet concrete floor. • Working Conditions • Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold.
