Looking 4 housing voucher programs or help w/ housing

Hi. I need information on organizations that help homeless men. I’m gay, on social security due to health issues and am currently sleeping in my mothers living room. I plan on getting back to work next year 2023. I have a limited income and given what rents are in the city I don’t know what to do for housing. I don’t want to go to an actual homeless shelter as I’ve seen a few and how unkept and dangerous they are. If anyone knows of a way I can be voucher for a place while staying at my mothers or any other suggestions I’d be grateful. I have again a number of health issues 😬 which is in part why I def don’t with to be in a shelter. Any help I’d be grateful
