Description

When it comes to Christmas, Christmas should be a time when magic is all around. Each year the magic is something to experience… Truly experience. All of us should be swept up in the mystery of Christmas – the sites, the sounds, the taste, the ambience. And part of the reason why Christmas is so magical is because everything is new and exciting. We get swept up. And as a child, Christmas is all about traditions. The tradition of cookie baking. The tradition of tree decorating. The tradition of gingerbread house building. The tradition of writing letters to Santa. Then as we grow older, those traditions tend to fade. But not any longer. Prepare to be captivated by the holiday season as a whimsical and heartfelt magical Christmas comes to life for the first time in Edom, Texas. Transporting guests to a world of festive wonder, artist J.Howard is proud to present A Magical Christmas. Visitors will embark on a quest within the sleepy little town filled with fresh greenery, twinkling lights, creative spirits, and art galore as they come to a new place of celebrating family and traditions. This December, the artful magic of Christmas will be brought to life on Brig Street in the sleepy little town of Edom by A Meeting of Styles,Inc., Edom Art Emporium, and Lauren Productions. AMOS is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that strives to make artful magic accessible to everyone. Edom Art Emporium will lead the way to making memories with creativity, thought, and love, while Lauren Productions insures that the entire event is picture perfect everywhere you turn. From the heart of what family and traditions are all about, J.Howard, the mastermind behind it all, has worked diligently to create an event that will have you return year after year to establish new traditions uniquely fit for your clan. Inspired by the Broadway musical Brigadoon, what better place to recreate the magic than on Brig Street, Edom is sure to provide visitors of A Magical Christmas with opportunities to recapture that sense of wonder through the weekend of December 9-11, 2022. Start the weekend off with reserving a seat at a festive experience that will establish a foundation for new generations of family and community traditions. Journey back in time wearing your best Colonial Renaissance attire and join us at the Christmas Community Long Table beginning at dusk on December 9th in a beautiful Piney Woods setting. A celebration of food and spirits among the natural backdrop of majestic trees lit up with fantasy and magic. Upon arrival you will be greeted by kilted stewards who will valet your chariot and guide you up the path of lights to the clearing where you will join other diners at the long table. A catered five course meal will begin the weekend experience with what can only be described as delectable. Dine as lords and ladies family style with new and familiar faces in a very special space of celebration. On Saturday December 10th, visit the shops located on Brig Street in the heart of downtown Edom. See the miniature Christmas Village displays and vintage electric trains at the Edom Art Emporium. Listen to Christmas carols sung by traveling carolers and enjoy elf street dancing. Participate in wreath making, ornament creating, and gingerbread house building. Write a letter to Santa, search for Waldo, and go on a Scavenger Hunt. Win a gift card sponsored by the Greater Van Zandt Merchants Association to purchase a special something found in that perfect little shop. Watch a special Christmas movie and enjoy laughs with friends and families. Then just as the sun begins to set, you can find your spot along Brig Street to witness Santa’s return to Edom. Rounding the bend in his horse drawn carriage, each tree will magically light up as he passes. Santa will travel down to the main intersection, making his way back to the museum for the big town tree lighting by Mayor Barbara Crow. Following the reading of the Nativity Story, Santa will take his rightful place on his chair in front of the Edom Art Emporium for that perfect photo op. The weekend continues on the Sunday December 11th with Santa Bunch Brunch at The Experience created by Chef Giuseppe Delasandro of Tera Sans Farm. Join Santa for farm fresh breakfast favorites and receive A Magical Christmas tote. The fun will continue with more artful activities, music, merriment, and many more photo opportunities as visitors create memories and new tradition for years to come. Packages that include lodging for one night or all three nights are available and include your choice of activities. Stay at the beautiful lush Dragonhead Retreat the entire weekend for $350 and receive a gift bag of goodies, reservations for two at the Community Long Table, and early arrival Thursday for a third night free. Additional accommodations at nearby hotels are available. Reservations for Christmas Community Long Table are limited to 50 seats.
