Get ready for our biggest event of the year! We'll be taking over Sony Square to create an amazing experience for you filled with the following: Three creative, dynamic sets for you to shoot (see set descriptions below)Hands-on instruction from top photographers and content creators Nigel Barker, Kesha Lambert and Taylor ReesThe latest gear from Sony for you to try outA free Sony memory card The opportunity to meet and connect with tons of other NYC photographersThe event is totally free, but spots are very limited, so make sure to register ASAP! How the Event Will WorkWe're hoping to have hundreds of attendees for this event, but due to capacity limits, we'll be staggering attendees into three separate time slots: 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and 8:30 PM to 10 PM. Each time slot will have the same sets, instructors, models, and Sony gear. When you fill out the registration form, you will select one time slot only. We will be cross-referencing all three lists, so if you try to signup for multiple times, we will revoke your tickets. What to BringYou must bring proof of COVID-19 vaccination to enter the event. If you'd like to borrow gear from Sony to use during the event, you must bring a valid US ID and credit card. All IDs and credit cards will be kept in a secure location under constant supervision from an Adorama or Sony employee and will be returned to you when you return your gear. Please note: Gear will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.Set Descriptions Set #1: Top Model Fashion Photography Light Set Up with Nigel BarkerStep on set with famed fashion photographer Nigel Barker from America’s Next Top Model, as he guides you to work with a Top Model on a classic Hollywood inspired set. Camera and suggested lens - Sony a7IV and FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II lens About Nigel Barker Nigel Barker is an internationally renowned photographer who served 17 seasons as photographer and judge on the hit TV show America's Next Top Model, and hosted Oxygen Network's modeling competition series, The Face, starring alongside Naomi Campbell. Barker's latest hit show with AdoramaTV Top Photographer premiered to rave reviews, and a second season is in the works. Barker is also a New York Times Best Selling author and award-winning filmmaker. Nigel's Instagram: @nigelbarker Set #2: The Wedding Editorial with Kesha LambertUsing light and photographer directed posing to create editorial couples portraits that tell a story. About Kesha Lambert Kesha Lambert is an international wedding, portrait and commercial photographer based in New York. She is a Fordham Law School graduate whose journey into photography was an unanticipated but welcome detour from her career in law. A Sony Artisan of Imagery and ardent creative, Kesha has had the honor of working with a breadth of high profile, commercial and private clients from all over the globe. Kesha enjoys sharing information with her peers and aims to be a resource to fellow photographers. Kesha's Instagram: @keshalambert Set #3: Docu-Style Photo Booth Photography!!Join documentary photographer Taylor Rees for a fun and engaging ’street portrait’ session, where she will teach how to take portraits of people in a documentary style fashion (off the cuff, quickly learning something about the personality of the subject, bringing out their essence), and then how to use Sony Alpha’s wifi technology to send the photos directly from the camera to a phone or tablet, do a 1 min Lightroom edit, and then send to the subjects phone. Taylor will be shooting these ’street style’ Photo Booth photos of willing audience members as well as helping participants to shoot each other, all while enabling everyone involved to walk away with their own portrait. Taylor recommends participants bring:• Sony camera with wifi capabilities ( or take one out as a loaner) • Sony lens (Taylor recommends 24mm, 35, 50, 85, 16-35, 24–70, or 24-105 or take one out as a loaner) • Sony flash, if possible, not required • Phone or tablet • Lightroom Photo & Video Mobile Editor About Taylor Rees A filmmaker, photojournalist, and avid explorer, Taylor Rees is driven by an insatiable curiosity to explore and tell the stories beneath the surface. She infuses her passion for adventure into her work around environmental and humanitarian issues, bringing new perspectives and deeper public understanding to the complexities of climate change, conservation, social justice and extractive industries. Taylor received a Masters in Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry where she led the Yale Environmental Film Festival for two years before moving into a career as a full-time director, producer, and shooter. Her recent documentary film ASHES TO ASHES (Mountainfilm 2019) won Best Short Doc at the Oscar-qualifying River Run Film Festival.
