So far, I have been offered gigs that just don't give me a fair shot at proving what I can do. What irks me is: "Come try out for our band but play OUR drum set." So I've been expected to nail tunes I've just learned on an electronic set that's set up for somebody else. Or to play tunes on some shabby, broke-dick acoustic drums set I wouldn't be caught dead with. No Problem - right? For the record, (potential band mates) would you audition with a guitar/bass/keyboard you've never played before? Then why assume drummers are OK with that? And don't give me that BS "If you were a professional,..." Because one set is NOT like any other? No one expects a guitarist NOT to bring their favorite Axe. What's the difference? Being familiar with your instrument and to be comfortable is everything! Like any performer, drummers need to feel at home with their instrument. So, if you need a drummer for your Rock Band, Country Band, or your Blues Band - email me, but expect me to bring MY gear. I have fantastic e-drums and a couple vintage drum sets. If interested: 1. Please state your band name (if you have one), 2. what your group consists of, 3. and who you are (in case we've already interacted) OK? List some tunes you play or are working on, and gigs you've played (if any). I want to get an idea what you're looking for. -Start ups are welcome too (if you have experience and a rehearsal space) - Look, I really wanna play drums for you! But I keep running into posers, BS artists, and egomaniacs. Let's face it,... there ain't much money in this biz,.. - So let's just have fun, and Rock (or Roll) OK? This is a hobby- don't lose sight of the fact you ain't in Led Zepplin! About me: I'm over 60, and have been playing since I was 14.
