It was Friday night on the 5th floor of the engineering building. I broke up with my partner the day before and sitting alone in the engineering building on a Friday night was making me so sad. I started crying and couldn’t stop. When I got up to leave, I noticed my rain jacket was missing! There were only two places I could have left it and you were studying in one of them… Thank you for asking if I was okay or needed help after I asked if you’d seen my jacket. It reminded me that there are good humans in the world and that kindness can come from where you least expect it.
