El Dia de Los Muertos is a ritual developed over 3,000 years. The Aztecs, who were the ones to initiate this celebration, saw death as the beginning of the cycle of life. They didn't believe in grieving. Instead, they invited the spirits of their loved one's once a year to commemorate their lives here on earth.
In this special event, we will share the ancestral history behind El Dia De Los Muertos and discuss the symbolism behind each item we add to our Day of the Dead altars. This is an opportunity to learn from the Aztec culture about their beliefs on death and life and how we can integrate their teachings into everyday life.
We'll come together to create our own altar candles, marigold paper flowers, and more. We'll also hold space for our loved ones who have passed away to join us in celebration.
