White House correspondent April Ryan will profile Black women who are working to change America’s social and political landscape. She will also reflect on her own life and career, from her working class upbringing in Baltimore to her position in the Washington press corp. April Ryan will be joined in conversation by University of Baltimore president Kurt Schmoke.
April Ryan is a longtime White House correspondent and a CNN political analyst. She is the author of The Presidency in Black and White and At Mama’s Knee: Mothers and Race in Black and White.
Kurt Schmoke is the president of the University of Baltimore. He served as the mayor of Baltimore from 1987-1999.
